Welcome to TallCyclist.com and thanks for stopping by.
So you want an insight into the mind behind the sense. Well I’m running this site for all the tall and over grown cyclist out there. If your into Triathlon I won’t hold it against you.
At this stage Tall Cyclist general direction of the site will be build a community and hopefully some larger than life guest writers that can add to the mix. The discussion will be broad and cover a multitude of subjects and will be driven by you the reader.
What is Considered Tall on this site: we best define things from the start… so there is less confusion down the track.
To what is considered Tall, after a number of minuets (yes you can tell that the research on TallCyclist is not heavily resourced) I have come to the conclusion that no-one source can define what is considered tall. So here it is, I hereby declare that what is considered Tall on this site is as follows. For female cyclists I’m aiming for 5’11” (180cm) and for Male cyclist I’m leaning towards 6’2” (188cm) and over. This seems to be the general idea of what tall may be… it’s not a science I’m just setting a baseline here.
This is not to say that the more average build cyclists may not be involved, I’m not looking to discriminate against the more “normal” among us. I myself stand at 6’6” or 198cm, this puts me on the cusp of what I think bicycle manufactures consider when designing large frames. I personally ride a 63cm frame, I’ll hold off on the brand name as this is not an advert for what I choose to ride.
Instead it’s about all the overgrown that have taken up the challenge of fitting a bike and taking on the local bunch rides. Sure we have all her it before when out riding… “you’re a great wheel to follow”, just don’t start with the “How’s the weather up there?”… yes we’re all hear it before.
